Draw fireworks

This is an installation for the "LIGHT FESTIVAL" clothing line by PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE. The clothing features fireworks painted with ink-like dots. I wanted to create an installation that evokes the moment when countless particles of light gently spread out in a radial pattern, so I printed the dot pattern used on the clothing on a large scale and placed a large, tri-fold mirror on top that resembles pleats. When you walk around the mirror, you and the surrounding space are replicated multiple times along with the dots, allowing you to experience the moment when an unexpected landscape (pattern) is born.

花火を描く

PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKEによる服「LIGHT FESTIVAL」のためのインスタレーションです。その服にはインクが滲んだようなドットで花火が描かれています。無数の光の粒が放射状にフワッとと広がる瞬間を思い起こさせるようなインスタレーションができないかと考え、服に使われているドットのパターンを大きくプリントし、その上にプリーツを模した三つ折りの大きな鏡を置きました。鏡の周りを歩くと、ドットと共に自分や周囲の空間が幾重にも複製され、思いがけない風景（パターン）が生まれる瞬間を味わってもらえるのではないかと思います。
